Sorry to hear about your loss. Being close to the border the odds are slim of finding it. Around five months ago a buddie had his new Suburban stolen while they went in to eat in San Antonio. The cops told him that the On-Star was disabled before it left the parking lot.
I had a Ravelco installed into my 2000 F250 shortly after I purchased it since the 7.3s were on the high target list. It will not even turn over the engine without the chip installed. Here is the link for those interested---
