I never thought a truck and camper would be subject to theft. They are just so visible.
My guess is, and this is purely a guess, is that they wanted the truck primarily and the camper just came along for the ride. The Fastguns and Fastgun locks were impossible to sever and remove and besides I had taken the battery out for a recharge. Since most "chop shops" are basically home garages, the truck and camper would not fit in. Alternatively, they might have attempted to drive it across the border to Nogales, Mexico, where many stolen pickups wind up. That is primarily a freeway drive and a truck and camper combination would be obvious to alerted state, local and border patrol officers. Probably too risky, so they took what they could and abandoned it.
