Joe, Glad to hear you got it back, and are getting int fixed. When I lived in the San Diego area, my father-in-law liked nice trucks and had several stolen, from a 1972 Datsun pu, to a 1994 Chevy conversion PU with all the goodies, to a 2000 Lightning. All but the Lightning were recovered, and put back on the road with no problems, just a long process of repair/restoration.

"Replacement cost" wasn't enough for a new camper, I imagine...
Frankly I can't see being in love with a particular unit or floor plan so much that I'd be willing to live with a "fixed" camper that will likely have many many issues throughout the rest of its useful life.
I guess I am different from you, in that I have restored old cars, fixed up old RV's, rebuilt "totalled" vehicles and used them for years and years with no problems. Fixing up a damaged, or older rig is what I enjoy doing, so whether it is a 1963 Thunderbird I bought from the wrecking yard (had an engine fire that cooked the hood and engine electrical) and brought it back from the dead, to rebuilding a wrecked 1984 Bronco II with 17K original in 1986, then driving it till it had 136K, pulled the V-6 and 5 speed, put in a 289 and auto, drove it til 189K and sold it still running strong, and never failed me, not once.
But I know many are not like me that like to fix their own, so to each his own, and I look forward to the finished pictures of the truck and Camper. I know that if something happened to my F350 and 1966 Avion, I would want to repair it, as replacing the camper is really difficult, and replacing the truck would be difficult as it only has 46K, and is a 5.4 gas/ZF-6 speed. The big-3 do not even offer a gas truck with manual anymore...
Looking forward to more good news!
