I have towed in tons of different configurations from light vehicles w/tiny utility trailers all the way up to class 8 / tractor trailers.
I have never had a problem with gas stations with any of them, just as others said - take your time and look over the layout and space available and drive accordingly.
Obviously, wide open "travel plaza" sort of stations are easier - so I try to gas up before we hook up to leave and then hit big places I know along the route.
We are still kinda new at TT specific towing. The only issue I have is any less-than-wide-open stations that happen to be crowded when I am trying to get fuel. I am extra cautious of people / vehicles around me going all different directions in and out of the place.
I will also say that a lower, light vehicle with 35 feet of TT behind it, being over 55 feet long, does feel a bit tougher to maneuver than a bigger tractor trailer with better viewing angles and different geometry / pivot point -- you can't jack-knife a bumper pull TT the way you can a 5th wheel and tail swing (behind the trailer axles) is generally a lot worse on any towable RV's.
