I agree reliability is of upmost importance, but don't we all want a truck that looks good as well? We should be able to have both, no?
I've looked over the Dodge and GM literature, and I can't find a 100% guarantee against breakdown/failures.
I'm partial to Ford myself, but I've seen all 3 brands broken down, on the side of the road, wating for a wrecker.
To OP, I'm sorry to hear of the considerable unexpected expense and shortened vacation (especially at Ft. Wilderness @ the World) To be honest, I wouldn't trust the truck either unless a trusted mechanic can find out what when wrong and why. Good mechanics really are hard to come by, especially when it comes to the finiky and complex 6.0.
