When you had the initial coolant blow out how hot did the temp get?
Still losing coolant now, you may have warped/damaged the head if the temp got hot enough when you had all that coolant loss.
The engine never got really hot. I hadn't driven very far and both temps were in the normal range. When I stopped at the gas pump the "Check Coolant" message popped up. I put some water in and drove to the dealership. The temperatures stayed normal all the way there (about 15 miles).
The second mechanic who fixed the loose hose clamp did do a pressure test and found no issues. On they way home it sounded like the coolant was boiling off (I could hear bubbling and hissing from the bottle). At this point, though, I just wanted to get home so I pressed on. Again, neither of my temperature gauges went above normal (slightly less than middle).
