Yes, the door between the living area and bathroom/bedroom does open enough to get in and out while on the road and to finish loading. It's snug if you're trying to carry a load, but you can set it down and take a few things at a time. With the chairs moved in front of the rear door, it makes that door inaccessible but the front door into the bedroom gives you access to both bathroom and kitchen + dinette.
In moving from our ROO 23SS HTT we lost some wonderful kitchen counterspace, but the 2604 is still very workable, we just had to rethink how we do things.
Hadn't noticed the tongue weight difference....wonder where it comes from. In any event, either are very comfortable, convenient trailers.
