Different year/model: I towed a 9,500 # GVWR TT with a 2003 (?) 2WD 2500 Suburban with the 6.0. I even upgraded the axle to 4.1 (IIRC).
I weighed the TT a couple of times and found out that when loaded, it was 8800 - 9200.
I did not enjoy the towing experience simply from the aspect of how hard the 6.0 had to work. Stopped OK, with the Dual-Cam it towed OK, never felt out of control......except it would just really struggle on anything but the slightest grades. Great rig for driving from Ewe-Stun to Florida. Not a good rig for accelerating, going West, or for gas mileage.
