Suburban Furnace Problems/Wont' stay lit

furnace BTU draw is likely 30K to 50K. WH BTU is around 10-12K BTU.

so furnace draws 3-5 x the BTU's.

Turn on a stove burner . Look at the flame while turning on the water heater. The stove flame should remain the same. If not, its the propane regulator . (changeover valve)

How does the propane stove work?

If they work properly then not likely regulator.

more than likely your propane regulator is bad not enough pressure after a few seconds of lighting board shuts the unit off fan run as out of gas

DSI units do not have pilot.
"flame proofer" is the flame sensor.

Clean the flame proofer, light sanding with emery paper (light sanding). The flame proofer is the little round thing that is sticking into the pilot light flame. If the flame proofer doesn't sense the flame, it turns the gas off to the pilot light and the furnace won't run.

are you absolutely positive that your propane tanks were opened correctly? If the excess flow valve is triggered, the pilot lights will come on, but the WH, furnace, won't work much if at all. First thing I'd do is make sure the gas stove will light all the burners at full flame. If not, you've got a flow restriction, likely the excess flow valve on the propane tank.
