- Cummins12V98Explorer IIII gave MY opinion and why I DON't use one so people can have another side of the topic. Are you afraid of someones opinion? It's how we all learn, different thoughts. No different than someone asking about adding a larger or in bed fuel tank. I will suggest trying it without doing so FIRST and have a 5 on board as a backup.
Another one is when I say to use the brain GOD gave you and inflate your tires based on your actual weights and use the chart instead of BLINDLY running MAX inflation.
Oh how about NOT doing a pull test and MY reasons why , OMG the sky is falling!
The list goes on and on. Ya know why??? Because I am NOT a blind follower to every gotta have it thing. - cummins2014Explorer

I had this happen to me. The bolt (3/8 by 3 inches) was picked up on the highway.
My TMPS was showing a slow loss of pressure. I was on I40 going toward Kingman AZ. A very busy highway with a lot of truck traffic.
Not a good place to replace a tire on a 5th wheel on the side of the road..
I was able to make the next exit while still having good tire pressure but I am sure if I had continued without knowing I had a tire in trouble the tire and possibly part of my trailer would have been destroyed.
But more important I was able to safely get off a very busy freeway and find some shade to install a spare tire in 100+ degree Arizona temperatures.
That most likely would have been my results with a TPMS ,but unfortunately I didn’t have one . I just ignored these type of threads , what a stupid mistake . Instead I put my wife , myself , and others in danger on the side of the road not far from where you had your tire problem . - larry_barnhartExplorer

My point is “I” spend my money where “I” want. I don’t call names if others disagree with what I do. Don’t agree with me that’s fine. Rationally respond with your opinion on reasons for what you do that’s fine.
No idea what a TPMS costs if it’s $500 or $200 I am not interested. I like my truck being free of added items. I know it would be a good idea to look at my Motorcycle when double towing but again that’s another thing to find a place for.
So y’all add all your safety devices you want I have zero issue with anyone doing so.
Ron , think about what the OP asked , brand of TPMS . You had absolutely nothing to add to this thread . You say you have zero issues with anyone adding safety devices , then why are you involved in this thread . It seems you have many issues with these devices. What is it , you can’t have it both ways :h - RCMAN46ExplorerI had this happen to me. The bolt (3/8 by 3 inches) was picked up on the highway.

"LUCK" has nothing to do with having tire issues. My money and "I" decide if it's worth it to spend it.
How many of you have a "Million Dollar Umbrella" on their Insurance Policy? I do because I have decided for the cost it's worth it as I do have plenty of assets to possibly loose.
So buy what YOU want and give reasons for why you do or don't buy something.
Everyone has ideas for what they do and don't do but how about we all stick to facts/opinions and not make snide remarks, call names or belittle others??????? This ain't Middle School.
Nothing snide or rude about what any of us are saying. But why have a million dollar “umbrella policy” and not spend $500 to make you and others safe! That policy will not save a life! A TPMS has the probability of saving a life or preventing an accident! - cummins2014Explorer

Couldn’t of said it better this is not middle school , not snide remarks just a fact its a mentality I had and many do too . Truth does hurt at times .
You start to loss air in a tire that holds 110-125 psi , bad things happen . If I had TPMS , most likely I would of got a low pressure warning and would of been able to save a nearly new tire and a lot of time lost . Plus sitting on a busy road .
Not sure what the umbrella has to do with sitting beside a busy road in danger of semis etc with a flat tire that no amount of insurance will help other than possibly a TPMS . It took me once to change my mentality .
Some learn by reading , some learn by observing , and some learn by pi$$ing on a electric fence . I know there has been a few times what category I fell in . Some have to learn the same way . - Cummins12V98Explorer III"LUCK" has nothing to do with having tire issues. My money and "I" decide if it's worth it to spend it.

"What did we do before TPMS???"
I don't know about you but I had more trailer damage. :)
That’s a pretty easy one to answer , little silly even to ask .
