Fiberglassrv.com is another forum you may like to visit, as the vast majority of owners there have such trailers. I'm on there, too.
Unless you want to go to a place like Can-Am in Ontario and get a custom hitch fabricated & installed, you probably want to stick to a 13' egg. A 16 footer will weigh more like 2500 loaded, and 250-350 on the tongue; you'd need a beefier hitch receiver and a weight distribution hitch as well. And frankly, if your dogs are very big, a 13 will be pretty crowded.
On the plus side, you'd probably be able to expect around 30 mpg with such a rig.
Scamp, Casita, Trillium, Boler (the latter no longer made) are all possibilities. If you do go larger than 13 footers, add in Parkliner and Li'l Snoozy as candidates.
