Wireless anything has made it easier for the bad guys to gain access...even a
wireless light bulb...as the 'computer' in it is plain dumb/simpleton...but...is
connected to your home computer or smart phone...then they are 'inside' your
computer system...bypassing all of your fire walls/anti-virus/etc
Only takes two cycles on a keyless fob to get the secret hand shake code. Their
highly touted algorithms are pretty good...but there is a 'base' code that
is sent each time....some has a numeric jump, but by getting two cycles...they
get that base code & whatever jump to...
For less than $100 bucks...anyone can buy a USB plug in WiFi to
both read and send codes
Either it is easy/easier or the profit margin is higher for whatever OEM/model
it is. Used to be Honda Accord, but from this thread...guess the current hot
item is a Super Duty with all the bells and whistles...
As for the Club...only as good as the steering wheel metal base inside the
covering.
There are YouTube video's telling HOW2 and is to hacksaw the steering wheel.
Only takes a few seconds if the thief is well trained...then the Club just
slides off
All this stuff only slows them down...and/or...makes them go to another easier vehicle...
