I had my F350 stolen from my driveway June 17,2015. I was lucky that it was recovered 2 days later. The thieves were using it to steal other stuff and got it stuck.
I have since installed a Cyclops Anti Theft device. Basically it is a relay and two key fobs. If the button on the fob isn't pressed the truck won't fire. It will just crank and crank. Thieves will move on rather than try to diagnose it. Here it a link the their web site. I am not affiliated with them, just a satisfied customer.
Ford didn't put chips in the keys until 2008 on the Super Duties. The police told me the SD was one of the easiest vehicles to steal. Thieves may break-in but they won't be taking my truck.(Hopefully)
I looked the page for these and am wondering if these are for Fords only or do they make them for other Manufactures also?
If you go down to the link on the lower left bottom of the main page and click it, it will ask you for the make, model, and year of your vehicle. I would think they are just using Ford as the model for their advertising. Try it, they probably have one for your vehicle too.
X2 I think they use the Ford SuperDuty because they are so easy and often stolen.
