The reality is that the popularity of the vehicle has a lot to do with how frequently they are stolen. Maserati's aren't stolen commonly because they are dang rare. The superduties are stolen more than any other HD truck because there are 3 or 4 on the road for every GM HD that is sold.

It would make sense that total numbers stolen would go hand in hand with total numbers on the road, and hence opportunity. I wonder if they keep stats anywhere based on percentages per set number? As for Maserati's, I see those in the parking lot at work all the time..... Or maybe it was not ever. I get confused sometimes.
