Super hitch?
If your going to install a super hitch does it matter if the truck has a factory hitch on it or not? Debating ordering tow package or leaving it off.

- Just add a Curt 2.5" 17,000lb hitch under the stock hitch and have the same thing cheaper, Hitchanything.com about $250
- You also need to consider the possibility that a tow package is more than a receiver and 7 pin wiring. It might include an integrated trailer brake controller (which is very nice), a bigger radiator, an improved power steering, transmission cooler, etc.
- If you're talking about a Ram truck, the factory hitch is actually part of a frame crossmember that can't be removed without lifting the bed. I wanted to actually remove the factory hitch but once I discovered that, I left it in place and installed the Superhitch below the factory one.

Good point it's a new ram so I'll inquire about the plug and brake controller, the brake controller is listed as standard equipment...

I think GM you also remove the factory one.

So, the answer is no; it doesn't matter. Save the money and apply it towards the new one..
