Super Secret Chevrolet Trailer Plug

I have a 2017 super-cheap Silverado. No trailer package, no receiver, no wiring plug...there is "a blank" with a fully-wired special plug that looks like you just snap out, and plug in the real thing.

That being said, after a fair bit of searching, I cannot find "the real plug" to purchase and swap out with "the blank".

Does anyone know if such things are available...I'm tempted to visit a junk yard!

(PS: This is only for the use of a lighter utility trailer...no plans to hook up a 37 ft, 3 axle fifth wheel, even though I'm sure I would have no problem hauling it at all whatsoever ;-) )
  • That it will tow a 37 Ft, 3 axle 5th wheel without a problem.

Of course, what else would they say?

You are saying that GM wires their vehicles the same and then "cuts out" the last part on cheap models? Oh, heavens! My Chevy is really a Cadillac in sheep's clothing? Or my Caddy is really a Chevy with extra chrome? How dare you!

My F150 is like that. It has the brake controller connector under the dash. But the aux wire and the blue brake signal wire is NOT wired in. So yes, these companies do some of exactly what you are saying.

    Thanks!
