Ok I'm looking at Jayco jay flight 32' fully load its 9000lbs. My truck can tow up to 8500lbs. I know I'll never fully load it. Would you buy it or stay clear of it?
Honestly (flame suit on) I look at the weighed at the factory yellow sticker dry weight. If the sticker lists the Jayco at 7400lb, and I think that might be close on the 32'. I would pass. You will put close to 1000lb in it, and that puts you at 8400. At which point your TV would be over loaded, because it really can't tow 8500lb. Every pound you load into the truck reduces the tow capacity of the truck by that much. So if you and the family weigh in the 300lb range, and the hitch weighs 70lb. Your tow capacity is reduced to 8130. and if you put wood, or well anything in the truck. The tow capacity is reduced by just that much.
So in short. IF the yellow sticker weight (dry sitting on the lot in front of you) is over 6000lb. I'd pass.
