Switch From Diesel to Gas.

Long bed makes it easier to tow a fifth wheel, or carry a truck camper. Long bed gives more space in the bed for carrying things. Also, the ride is a little better in a long bed, due to the longer wheelbase length.

Short bed makes the wheelbase length of the truck shorter, which gives it slightly tighter turning ability. The shorter overall length can fit in tighter spaces, like inside a garage.
