Switch From Diesel to Gas.

Short beds are quite a bit better off road or on tight forest service roads because they turn tighter and have better breakover and departure angles. As mentioned are better in urban environments, in particular in tight parking garages. But, the tradeoff is less bed space, not as good for a truck camper and you have to be a little more careful about how you set up a fifth wheel.

I'm happy with our short bed overall. Sometimes a longer bed would be nice, but as a daily driver, frequent parking garage user and camper/hunter who likes to get off the beaten path, a short bed suits our family better. Works great with my fifth wheel too.
