Tailgate on or off
hi guys, newbie here and hoping for some feedback. The truck i bought to fit my Eagle Cap 811 does not have a tailgate, should i fit a new one to the truck bed or is the tailgate not needed? thanks...

I always take it off, for reasons others have mentioned. I do use a hitch rack where I store some plastic tubs, one for my septic hose, the storage in the "bumper" on the NL is too tight for a standard fitting and my leveling blocks in another tub. It is not that heavy and doesn't affect the ride.
