We just bought an F150, and I really like the look and function of the Amp Research Bed Step, but I'm not in love with the price tag!So, I'm curious, what do you all do to make bed access a bit easier?

Sometimes you gotta pay if you want to play. I got one for my Dad's truck and he loves it. The convenience is priceless to him.Maybe you've got a generous kid who will buy you one for Christmas since you're too cheap to buy one for yourself, LOL?

I pull my tool box out to step up on. But I'm also cheap, and prefer most things I carry to do more than one job...

It's not a "tailgate" step but I have been considering a step that mounts under the back corner and swings down for use. They are affordable and can be added to most any truck. I have a tailgate step but too often it is blocked and can't be used so the extra step would be useful.

I bought the Amp Research and couldnt be happier. There are cheaper alternatives, (Bestop) but i didnt care for how low it hangs when not in use. The Amp Research was on sale when i bought it and there was a rebate. Still pricey for a step, but i think it is one of the better options out there.

The Amp Research Bed Step looks like a decent unit.I was fortunate with my 2010 F150. It came with the max tow package, bed side steps, and the tailgate with an integrated handle and step.While you can't add these items to your stock tailgate, the side steps should bolt on. I find these as handy as the tailgate step.That said, my setup had two issues. I couldn't drop the tailgate when hitched to the travel trailer. It would hit the Jack. My fix was to move the jack further back. And the step couldn't be used when hitched for obvious reasons.Before:During: Test fit with tailgate down, trailer hitched.After:
