I didn't like the 4200# camper being held by the 4 tiny jacks so I made I-beam sawhorses (look them up, they're awesome) and then I use 4 x 8 blocks at each foot (I do have the 6" extensions) but to me the key is the header boards I put on the saw horses, all I have to do is raise the camper one inch higher than the bed and I have it shimmed so I only need to lower the whole thing half an inch.
So when it's time to load I raise the unit half an inch all around and the truck is ready to go under.
I've mentally marked the stakes in my truck bed so if I'm aligned with the stakes by the time my wheel wells get to the edge I'll know if I'm lined up or not.
