If 640,000 miles some of them are sold with is short longevity, I take it.
Kind of funny finding 3-4 years old vans with 300k + miles on them. Evidently whoever buys them - love to drive them.
I abandoned the slide transfer idea. Extended van provides so much space that this is not crucial, while I will keep "low profile" to not make it too obvious it is RV.
Having double AC and extra heater with 200 amp alternator, the main plan is to use engine as generator. The 4-banger very likely sucks less fuel than 4000 W generators and should be quieter as well.
So far my favorite plan is to leave passenger side open, when coming from sliding side door the first thing behind driver seat will be wardrobe and shower.
Than next behind it refrigerator and whatever space will be left for countertop with small sink.
I am on the fence if I will install kitchen hood as this would make the only cover outside.
In the rear I plan to use camper dinette seats with additional narrow mattress in the rear, to make U-shape seating.
The rear mattress will be removable, so when we camp in nice weather, we can open 270 degree rear doors and seat "in the open".
Rear dinette will have to be elevated to gain some storage under, as storage is going to be the hardest thing to make here.
Having 200 amp alternator, I will put probably 3 batteries, what with solar should run all appliances on electricity, making no need for propane.
I will add coils to use engine heat to get hot water and then the "hot rod" 150W electric element for heating the water.
Water connection should fit next to diesel cap, so van will not have new covers on the side, while I put vents in the shower and over countertop.
At least 1 of my ca 15 gallons waste tank should fit under the floor, while water tank will go under dinette.
Porta-potty will rest in the shower pan.
WH either under wardrobe, or kitchen sink.
I also have old RV evaporative cooler in my storage, so will check its condition for potential use as I will use the RV mostly in hot climates.
Here is favorite candidate, but I would have to spend more what I planed and than make 2500 miles trip to pick it up in FL.
