T@B: Going Shopping-

I will be looking at T@B travel trailers soon. I have read what I could, but I am curious to hear from other T@B owners what to watch for regarding this small trailer, from your experiences. I am also stopping at a dealer who has two MPGs on their lot. These offer more than the T@B, but I like the option of being able to pivot the T@B on its wheels without much help. (This would help me back it into my space on the side of the house.)Appreciate any feedback from owners of either of these trailers.

Finally got to see a T@B. Too small! Moving on to look at others. Lots of nice features on the Gulf Stream Vista Cruiser. Looking at that.

Well, now that you have decided to look in this larger size category, there are many to choose from. Lots of brands and many floorplans. Have fun shopping !

I had a T@da and attended several T@b rallies and was/still a forum member over there. The plastic trim and propane covers have always been fragile. You will not be able to move it around easy, particularly if off the asphalt. Two people are needed on the asphalt to swing around.

Thanks for this information. When you say fragile, do you mean breakable?

  • The best $1000 dollars I spent on RVing was renting a T@B! We were considering buying one, back then $13,000 in Canada. Rented one for a week long holiday, took it back and walked away from it. We are both about 5'11" and not being able to stand up straight in the trailer wore thin really fast! We tend to spend most of our time outside, but first thing in the morning, getting dressed and doing other things we had to do at the same time with no room made us both say NO WAY.
The truck camper is somewhat crowded, but it still has more room than the T@B.
OH and as get more chronologically enhanced, I like having my own toilet close by at about 4 AM! :D
There are many people who love their T@B, and we liked the idea , but reality hit home with the one week rental. Many of the folks that really like them also admit they are shorter than we are so they would be able to stand up straight in the trailer.
    Good luck in your search.

  • I just stopped to look at one yesterday to see how much head room there was. They are very nice and they now have a model with a bathroom! IMHO would make for a very nice lightweight TT.

BTW: They also happen to have one of THE best forums. You can glean alot if you join their forum right from the RV'ers who worship the teardrops! :C

  • I looked at one on the dealers lot. I couldn't believe how gorgeous the woodwork was on the inside. Really quality stuff for any level of RV but spectacular for a small unit. In fact it blew away the new AF unit my buddy was buying.
It looks like they're really making an effort.
