Reading the comments worries me... I have friends that have questionable trucks... never knowing when they'll fail... so much junk being passed off as quality.
Thank goodness... I did my homework and ignored the price... The GMC 3500 SLT with the Duramax/Allison was clearly top of the line at the time (2003) and it has proved to hold it's value and it's functionality as it hauled our very large truck camper full time all of these years.
It's never required a chip, or aftermarket wheels and tires... or anything else to make it do what it is expected too. Be a strong, powerful truck.
I never had to make it into the perfect truck... it came that way from the factory. I've never had it fail.
I do hope that your travels will be safe and trouble free... that all of the pot holes and bumps in the road are kind to your truck campers and especially to your truck.
BTW... I had seen this same picture that Bootycall posted on FB... from all of our guesses here and there it would fit in "around the campfire"
I also thought of the poor owner and the pain that it has caused... what truck will he purchase next?
