- ticki2ExplorerI have stopped for lunch many times at lock 11 between Whitehall and Ft. Ann . I asked the attendant about overnighting and they said no problem . Not sure about the canoe but suspect it's ok . There is a website for the came
Cannal which gives the rules and cost for boats . - jplante4Explorer IINYS Web Site
Lists nearby attractions for each location. It sounds like a fun theme based trip. We stay at an RV park on the Mohawk near Schenectady on our way west. It's very peaceful. - SidecarFlipExplorer IIISounds interesting. I see they say nothing about TC's though, only tent camping. Heading to Maine this summer (Bangor Area), I need to check the locks out.

Sounds like a good opportunity to play the "truck with cargo" card. - HarleybulletExplorerThanks Suds may take you up on that offer during the summer...Dave (HD)
Sidecarflip I am contemplating a side car with a Royal Enfield or Triumph, if you have some info on that PM me...harley bullet - notsobigjoeNomad IIIWhen my wife and i were younger we would tent camp on our pontoon boat all the time on the Erie canal. Many places to put in and excellent tourist traps. We do remember seeing camping but it was long ago. Good luck, It's absolutely beautiful in the spring and summer. The fall can be a little rainy and to cold that far north.
