TC camping along the Erie canal NYS

I have stopped for lunch many times at lock 11 between Whitehall and Ft. Ann . I asked the attendant about overnighting and they said no problem . Not sure about the canoe but suspect it's ok . There is a website for the came
Cannal which gives the rules and cost for boats .

Lists nearby attractions for each location. It sounds like a fun theme based trip. We stay at an RV park on the Mohawk near Schenectady on our way west. It's very peaceful.

Sounds interesting. I see they say nothing about TC's though, only tent camping. Heading to Maine this summer (Bangor Area), I need to check the locks out.

this is my back yard which has water access ( 200 ft.) to the Champlain canal & 2000 ft to the last lock .giving access to Lake Champlain have water power at barn your both welcome to use any time , need prior notice , if im not here my tenant gets very protective of property!!!!!

When my wife and i were younger we would tent camp on our pontoon boat all the time on the Erie canal. Many places to put in and excellent tourist traps. We do remember seeing camping but it was long ago. Good luck, It's absolutely beautiful in the spring and summer. The fall can be a little rainy and to cold that far north.

Coincidentally, I own a mint condition 1967 Norton 750 P11A scrambler...lol

My 'sidear' is a Motorvation Spyder on a Centennial Triumph 750 Bonneville, slightly 'breathed' on. Only one of it's kind in the United States, maybe the world. I like unusual motorcycles..
