When I had insurance on an RV, it was Explorer RV. They covered when ever it was covered by the truck's insurance. I did file a claim with them for damage from a blow out and had great service with quick settlement. This was back in 2008 so things may have changed, but they would be my first stop if I was shopping again.
When you talk to the insurance company, you also need to be specific about the type of insurance coverage. If you just ask, is this covered by the truck, their answer will be "yes". However, if you ask, is this covered by the truck's comprehensive policy, the answer may be "no, only liability". And as you have found out, it isn't covered when off the truck in either campgrounds or storage.
