Televisions and towing??? On mount or on bed??

Soooo....we get to sunny Florida and we have the television on this morning and it suddenly dies. It was the cheapie Jensen that came with the trailer, and I checked for any reasons why it failed, but it will not power on. I'm not that upset...rather have a 32" than a 28" television in the trailer. So we went out and bought a 32" Vizio for the trailer. And, we're going to be here until the end of the month, so here's the question.

When towing, do you leave your tv on the mount, or do you remove it and put it on a bed or other area to reduce vibrations?

  • I replaced my old 27" CRT with s 32" LED mounted on an articulating mount. Too large for the original opening so it sits outside of and against the cabinet opening. I did install a narrow shelf beneath it for support and added Velcro straps for travel. Never take it off.
  • Our tt came new with one mounted on the wall and we added one in the bedroom. I added a Velcro strap in the bedroom to prevent the telescoping arm from coming out as we travel. That has worked fine. Both have been up full time for 2 years and 8000+ miles

  • I never moved the tv in any trailer we had and never had one go bad. I think it would take me half the summer to get the tv out of the MH.
