Tent end support bar storage

Has anyone come up with a nifty way to store your tent end support bars when traveling or when not using the tent end?? We are just putting them on the floor of the camper but hate that they slide all over. Any ideas anyone can share?
  • Mine either go in between the mattresses or into the front skinny storage doors found on all the old school original starcraft.
  • I put a square bumper on the back of my trailer.
I now store the sewer hose, well hoses now in that.
I pulled out the original sewer hose storage and there was plenty of length in that compartment.
I bought a piece of large diameter PVC and put that in there to get the extension I needed for the tent end poles.
    Works great!
I also put a more reliable latch on the door to the compartment.

You could also store them under the mats if you have the bunk ends that slide in and out.

    X2
  • Hmmm... I like the square PVC pipe idea if I can fit it under the camper, been thinking of that for the flex sewer pipe anyways, could get two of them. I think I'd worry to much about tearing the canvas putting them in between the mattress. Unfortunately, the bar that holds the large bunk end is one entire piece, so I'll need to come up with a storage idea for that piece. The snap fitting idea is a good one but need to figure out where it'll fit securely.

  • I put big bicycle type hooks overhead in my storage compartment, the rods go up there resting in the hooks. Just make sure you don't turn the hooks in to far, that board in the top of the storage compartment is only about 1/2-inch thick, but thick enough to hold those rods just fine.

Actually I have all kinds of hooks in my storage compartment to store darn near everything, yet it's all still easily accessible and not piled on the floor. You just have to make sure you don't got to deep when mounting the hooks, don't want to poke a hole through the wall.
  • Yes! The same solution I used for my waste pipes! I used to have an Apache Ramada hard sided pop up, I bought a 10' length of PVC plumbing pipe 2, 4 or 6 inch depending on needs. (HD or Lowes)
Then you get adapter fittings for a threaded cap on one side, and a solid cap on the other (cheaper, or do removeable both ends, to allow you to pull or push pipes or hoses out. Simple strap iron, or heavy plastic zip ties (that have a screw eyelet on the end) then allow you to attach the tube to a bumper, bed end, underneath r on the body!
A cheaper, easy fix is also a screw on set of clips (like tool or rod holders, that the bars can snap into, screwed onto the end of the bed.
