Hello, I was hoping someone could give me some ideas or help. This is my first TT, It’s a 2004 Fleetwood Terry Dakota ultra-light. I bought this a few months ago and now I’ve noticed a soft spot in front of the fridge. At first i thought it was an old leak but now i see it’s not. When it rains there is water in front of the fridge that is coming from under the fridge. I thought maybe it was one of the lights outside so i resealed the yellow light, kitchen vent, refrigerator door and the heater. Nothing seems to have worked, i checked the roof and everything looks good, the vents on the roof look good. The previous owner said he had sealed the rubber roof last year. I do not see any water damage on the roof inside. The only thing he mention was replacing one of the vent covers on the roof but i don’t see how that would have effected it since the roof inside is perfect. The only thing i haven't been able to figure out is why the door on that outside of the trailer for the refrigerator seems to be damp around the edges, i tried putting rubber seals inside and resealed the opening on the outside but it seems like water is coming through the little vents or around the door where it clips into the wall. Any ideas you have i would appreciate, I’ve fixed leaks on my old 86 Winnebago Class A for years but they were always roof problems and easily fixed. This is damaging the floor in front of the refrigerator so i can only imagine what it could be doing to the floor in other places..

The water can be travelling a long way before it shows on the inside of the TT. I would clean the roof, then inspect all of the joints and reseal any that look iffy. If the roof checks out then use dyes and run water over each suspect joint, use a different color dye for each.

I'd suggest you block the louvers on the fridge panel, block off your ceiling vents, and block off the furnace openings. Perform a pressurized leak test by introducing a large volume of air into the trailer. You then march around the trailer with a spray bottle of soapy water and spray everything. Even a small pinhole in sealants will make bubbles.

Also, most RV shops will preform a Leak Test for you for around $100.00.Then if a leak is found they will repair it for you.Bob

This may be a silly question,but have you checked where the refrigerator drain tube is draining? Ours came unclipped from the vent outlet once but me being meI look for it every time we set up at a camp ground. It doesn't hang out the vent like most.

Thanks for all the feedback, I’m going to try some of these ideas, I already did the one Westend recommended last weekend. i put a piece of plastic behind the louvers and i applied a strip of putty tape over the crack at the top of the refrigerator door where it slides in with tabs at the top. Yesterday we had a good rain but i didn’t notice anything inside but ill check it again to see if it did work or to see if I redirected the water somewhere else. Just to be safe I’m thinking of going down to Lowes and trying to find something to do the Rain gutter mod I have seen online that people use to help stop the same exact problem

Update: I did a test the last few days and its been raining everyday. I took the plastic out behind the outside refrigerator access door and just put putty all the way around the opening where the door fits and locks in. So far i have not had any leaks inside but i can't figure out why mine is leaking and everyone else's seems to be fine

Sometimes it is just a matter of which way the prevailing wind hits the trailer. It may not leak if turned the other way, but then something else may.

I would seriously look at your wheel well area to make sure it is not leaking. Take the trim off and make sure everything is sealed. Not sure if your Dakota is like my Quantum but if you can find my post on the problems I had you will see what I am talking about.
