I like the "walk before we run" approach.
Where are all the hybrids we should see as 'transitional' vehicles? If you hop in an ICE car with 1/4 tank of fuel, heading out on a 500-mile trip, you know gasoline will be available most anywhere.
Let's say it's a year from now -- and I need to head out on the same trip with a partially-charged EV . . . do I feel confident there will be a charging station just where and when I need it? Are these things going to spring up overnight, and be in every location I might need to go?
To wean me off ICE vehicles, start me out with a hybrid that gets 50mpg+ whether in town or on the highway, with a good EV range, and I'll be more ready to jump on this bandwagon. But for now, too much too soon might knock the wheels totally off of the aforementioned bandwagon! I don't see our country being anywhere near ready for this big transition to EV's.
Just my opinion . . . exactly like 100% of the other posts on this forum! :C
