Elon Musk says it will priced $49,000 or lower and has towing capability like an F150.
Good news with the price of gas.

I assume this will drop as the more basic models are distributed.
Is Fiat stealing from Tesla's play book? Launch Edition lists at $62,310 :E
$62,310.00? Even if it's the 14K Au edition, IMO one has to be a nitwit to pay that for 1/2 of a wanna be truck. Oooooooo look at me and my Launch edition, I am a total badass. ROFLMAO
I would not mind having a jeep but not for $62K, nor even $56K or $35K. The last one I test drove my shins were against the bottom of the dash. - philhExplorer II

Let me put it this wa, if the GM and the Chrysler’s are not so backward that they can’t even have the basic technology to produce low emission-low MPG vehicles, then they don’t even have to buy these credits from Tesla or anyone else..
It's cheaper for them to buy credits from a company that was and is still funded by taxpayer dollars.
GM may be behind on development, but they are quickly going to catch up. Chrysler, well, lets just stick with they love their profitable jeeps and large cars. Yosemite Sam1 wrote:

Right now the law allows any car maker to earn carbon credits for producing electric vehicles.
The government has no right to give anybody carbon credits to sell.
Unless these carbon credits infringe on your civil liberties the government most certainly does have the right to impose these incentives. Not sure you understand how government works.
Otherwise you need to find a judge that agrees with you. That is the balance of power.- danrclemExplorer

I got a feeling those who made comments about carbon credits don’t know squat about it other than what they heard from the Al Gore haters.

And please, all the car manufacturers are going full blast into EV because they know and realized the demise and obsolescence of ICE - except that everyone but Tesla is way ahead in EV and battery technology.
The government has no right to give anybody carbon credits to sell. GM and Chrysler have the right to produce what they want and let the free market decide what sells.
Al Gore lives his lavish lifestyle and puts a lot more carbon into the atmosphere than the average person. He gets rich because the greenies are naïve enough to think he cares.
You haven't proven squat.
I'm done with this thread. - 8_1_VanExplorer

That money was discharged in bankruptcy.
GM received bankruptcy funding and per the deal, was repaid. Taxpayers didn't receive dollar for dollar.
Chrysler should have been broken up and pieces sold. Instead, it was GIVEN to a foreign auto maker in exchange for promises, that were largely never satisfied in spirit.
Both had their massive loans discharged in the bankruptcy process. - Bird_FreakExplorer IIAmazing how this group has gone down hill over the years.
All this arguing back and forth started by a truck that does not exist on the market yet.
