Man that thing is sooo smooth. You can't hardly feel it change gears at all. Factory exhaust brake is pretty cool, didn't expect it to work as good as it does. The ride quality with the rear coils make mine feel like a wooden wagon. Still on the longbed/shortbed fence though, and all they have is black and white, don't really care for either. Thoughts on RAM factory 5th wheel prep? Pros and cons?May pull the trigger Monday.Can't believe I just typed this, been hardcore Chevy since I was 16! :(

Oh ****, what did you go and do???? LolBuddy has a '13-2500 CTD Mega, very nice truck. The room in the back seat is crazy!!! Ride is very nice as well. He now has a 5ver with the 6'x" bed the Mega has and with an auto slider (Pull Rite I think), had not had any issues at all. Though they have only been on 3 trips so far since purchase this spring.IF you consider the Ram Box, only the Reese Sidewinder will work without the need to modify the pin box. A situation where when the salesman's lips moved he was lying! As for sb vs lb.... How old are the kids? What about a Mega Cab if they are still younger? Maybe IB will post up his experience having a Ram sb with a 5ver and what hitch he has. Can't remember if he has the hitch listed in his signature or not.Was this a 2500 or 3500? As you know, for about the same price the 3500 has about 1k lbs more payload. Not sure if it has the same rear suspension now or not though.Sounds like the factory prep is not a must have in reading the thread about the new Ford being ordered.Did you at least go check the new Chevy trucks out being a die hard for so long? The 3500's have about an extra 1500 lbs payload over the 2500's and ride rougher with leafs vs coils- and yes that Cummins is sweet! ;)

Dodge builds a good truck. Unless they have changed the only downside is towing mirrors. Hard to beat the Ford towing mirrors. Motors in & out and folds with a push of a button. All I ever saw on the Ram was car mirrors.

Going from your vintage of truck (I used to have one) to any newer truck will be "smooth." I think some of the newer sound deadening gives a lot of that sensation. My new Chevy sounds like an electric golf cart compared to my 06 duramax. Get the truck you want. Having 5er prep from the factory is, I think, a good thing if you're going to go down that road. I believe B&W makes. A hitch specifically to fit it.

If you are looking for a 15 you should get it at invoice minus incentives at a minimum.

I paid $2,650 for the Chrysler no deductible 7yr 100K warranty. Don't usually get warranty but I don't have to worry about being covered. ONLY buy the Chrysler warranty!!!

Get the nicer trim level when you are spending that much money you may as well like what you are driving and also have the wife happy!!!

The buckets and 8.4 nav are awesome.

Long bed is always my first choice! No worry about hitch, big tool box will fit and the truck is usable as a truck when bed is empty. You get used to the length, really no big deal.

The factory hitch prep is well worth it!

Spray in bed liner is a good product at a good price.

Aisin trans is a good choice, Medium duty with extra HP and TQ. Another really nice useful thing the Aisin has lower starting gears. Really helps get the load rolling.

The only warranty I would ever consider is one that is backed by the manufacture.

i am looking at the dodge. i really don't need all the bells of a bighorn, i like the tradesman and can save 5500. the bighorn is beautiful.
my problem is the wife, she say go bighorn because it has fold down seats, and power plug in back.and is prettier than tradesman. i just get scared about all the additions to other with something breaking down.

Your a real party pooper :B We are just having some fun with each others brands. Personally I feel they are all pretty much up to the task of any big RV. I might mention they are really easy on the ears now days :W My dog misses the old 5.9 sound and don't even know when I get back home :E
