- jus2shyExplorerwatching that last deliberation, I think they should had separated SRW from DRW. Also, that certainly highlighted the schism in preference. Louder trucker-like experience versus quieter more sedan-like experience. Seems they were hung up on efficiency at max capability. I really wish the EPA would start rating HD vehicles up to 14,400 lbs like passenger cars since many vehicles at this class of weight is being bought by private owners versus the old days where vehicles over 8,500 lbs GVWR were mostly bought by fleets. Times have changed....
- Here's the deliberation on the HD diesel trucks. I don't like that they lumped the SRW and the DRW together.
Link - lbrjetExplorerWonder what the rear axle gear ratios were in the gasser HD test.
- ksssExplorerRam does not appear to me to make good use of all that power. This test reconfirmed what has been seen in other tests with the 6.4 seeming to "protect itself" when pushed hard. They need to deactivate the "nannies" and let it run. They likely would dominate this market and these pull offs, as it is they get spanked by a less powerful engine that has been in service since 1999.
- ROBERTSUNRUSExplorer:) Hi, willing to bet all four of those guys have Chevrolets in their garage. "The Chevy is more truck like because it has a built in brake controller". The Videos were pretty good but all of the rest was B.S.

This horse has been beat to death already. The entire test is somewhat skewed with the lack of useful data. The sites opinion only goes so far in my world. Nice report but..... a bit of Excel would mix in nicely. At least Pickup Trucks give out data for their tests.
And no my name isn't Mark :B or IB :W jus2shy wrote:
Huh, thought they tested a Ford sometime ago. Guess not. Hopefully the next time they do the HD Gasser award, they have a better sampling.
They tested a Ford, Chevy, and RAM at a RAM sponsored event. It was a very basic 0-60 tests.- jus2shyExplorerHuh, thought they tested a Ford sometime ago. Guess not. Hopefully the next time they do the HD Gasser award, they have a better sampling.
- Here's the deliberation on the HD Gas trucks... It appears the Chevy really spanked the RAM on performance and better braking so perhaps that's how it got the nod.
