- HannibalExplorer65mph? I drive faster than that through the car wash! Real world is running 75~mph with traffic. I get 47mpg in our Prius Xsp running 75~mph if we're not towing anything. Last weekend we were going south on I-75 near Gainseville with cruise set on 72mph and a Cummins powered dually with a living quarter gooseneck horse trailer passed us. All four of my Cummins Rams gave 19mpg interstate running with traffic. Still not bad.

Um... did this 800lbs-ft oil burner just turn in the same mpg as the F1fitty 163 cubic inch eco boost TFL tested? Har har har...
Looking forward to the towing mpg test with 16,000lbs high frontal area trailer behind both of them... ;)
:) Hi, and the Ecodiesel also got better mileage than the 2.7L Ecoboost, but beyond that it lost everything else. Har har har. Oh and don't forget the Oil burner has 420 lbs torque compared to the 375 lbs on the gas engine. Or you can jump on the Dodge band wagon and use the 240 horsepower CARD. :B
What's that got to do with the 2500 Ram diesel?
:) Hi, maybe you should look in a mirror; What did your comment about the Ecoboost have to do with the 2500 Ram Diesel??????
Oh sorry maybe you thought I care a rats you know what about pickup truck brands. I just found it funny after all the F150 marketing competitor bashing carry-on about power and economy that a diesel farm truck comes along and does pretty good mpg wise and decided to draw attention to the video here on diesel bash.net.
:) Hi, I think that it's great that the big Dodge gets that kind of fuel mileage. As you seem to imply, no need to bring up any Ford products, but you did anyway and then you got all defensive about it. :h
You win.
:) Hi,
THANK YOU. - notevenExplorer III

24.7 is impressive. I wouldn't have expected that high.
I have driven that route many times. I will make the same comment that I did when they tested the EB. 65 MPH on that stretch is SLOW. Would like to see what the difference is at 75.
I would like them to stretch these tests out to 100-150 miles or so. That's why the computer is off a little. Also my truck at 75 does as good if not a little better @ 75 if traffic will allow as apposed to 65. With the 3.42 gears @ 65 the motor is well below the torque band. 75 is the sweet spot for mine. I've seen 27 at that speed on the lie-o-meter for a couple hundred mile trip.
I had 3:42's in my last Dually and there is no way I would get better mileage at 75 then 65! Not calling you a liar but NO WAY! - Mickey_DExplorerMy 2014 4x4 averages a hair under 20 on the highway running 65 - 70 on cruise. Step up to 75 and it drops down to 17 - 18. DEF usage is about 500 to 700 mpg. The 4WD trucks do sit a little higher and I have a RanchHand front bumper, tool box, and headache rack (all hurt air flow) so I suspect his mileage is pretty realistic. I have been very happy with the mileage, it is a little better than my old 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 overall, with almost the same cost per mile for fuel as the old truck. Maintenance will be higher, but it will tow a LOT more.
