Your trip report made OUR Xmas, to be sure!
It is incredibly heartening that you chose not the most beautiful blemish-free puppies to rescue, but those in utmost need. This speaks volumes about where your heart is located: in the right place.

Lynn is right! It does indeed look like a puffin! I remember trekking across Bonaventure Island (île Bonaventure); a remote island out in the Atlantic off the Quebec Gaspe Peninsula coast (the island was 1st settled by the Irish in ~1790), and sat on the edge of the windy cliffs, surrounded by hundreds (thousands?) of Atlantic puffins :B
Dunes and I wish Lynn, Duke, Bailey and yourself a super Xmas, and smooth sailing to Boise (boise is French for wooded) ! Look at Boise as another trip report....but somewhat longer :W
