I had a 2004 Jetta TDI. Great little car.
Have a 2013 Audi now. Zero problems since new, just a few recalls concerning things that didn't affect drivability or take more than an hour to do.
The car has an electric cooling pump for the turbo to cool it down after you shut the car off. It had to be deactivated for two months until they could get new pumps so they extended the turbo warranty four years from the time they deactivated the pump. That's on a car that was already out of warranty for two years. I'll buy another.
