I am always amazed at how some people react when they encounter someone doing things outside of their comfort zone. In the end there is no right way, no wrong way, just their own way. We would be a dull lot if we all camped and traveled exactly the same fashion. There would be no point to the boards or trip reports. I am of the opinion that you should live your life as an adventure, push the edges, be able to say "I did it My Way". That's what Brian is doing, more power to him.
Some folks like things organized, sparkling clean, full hook ups. Others prefer the vast unknown, brush scrapes down the sides, dust covering everything and the tools to fix what they break.
Most folks fall somewhere in between and you know what? Its all good, you just have to accept that your way may not be their way and then go share a cold beer with them.
