You reminded me ... we almost traveled through Valley of the Gods a couple of years ago when we were in the vicinity visiting Monument Valley, but didn't know about the route at the time. We wanted to camp out there and take pictures. Could we have made it?
FWIW, we visited Monument Valley by taking the valley floor route not recommended for RVs. No problem ... we did just fine by taking it slow and easy.
In 2006 I specifically bought a small (24 foot) Class C motorhome on the OEM's optional E450 chassis even though raw motorhome weight didn't necessitate this chassis ... one of the main reasons being for added frame rigidity because we go off pavement with it drycamping when exploring and rockhounding.
