If you're purpose in having a truck camper is to put it on a 4X4 truck and get WAY back in the boondocks, places where no motor home or truck pulling a trailer could reach, then how TALL a truck camper is becomes a crucial factor. TCs like Alaskan, All Terain. and Four Wheel Campers will get you places you could never get a regular TC by virtue of their much lower travel height.
Exactly. 'Best' is determined by individual need, not by manufacturer and exactly why I have a pop up. No hard side could reach where I camp mostly, just way too high. Having said that I looked at all the pop ups and decided on what I bought for a number of reasons besides utility and floor plan.
No unit made will be 100% what I require but the one I bought comes the closest.
