It's called inflation. Gas was $0.50 per gallon, bread was $0.10 per loaf, etc...
$92k...I presume is full MSRP. I would be shocked if you couldn't knock $20k off that. Also, if you put the two trucks side by side and compared, the modern one would beat out the old one by a wide margin in just about any category you might consider.
I'm sure the old guy back in 1978 who could remember back to the horse and buggy days, didn't understand why $50 for a buckboard and a draft horse wouldn't be good enough.
