Yep, sometimes you have to wait for the right answer to come along. It is because most trucks need more ground clearance, especially if 4 wheel drive. When driven down a muddy road, you need more space for the tires, and they tend to bounce up and down, as they hit potholes.
Trucks tend to squat about 1" for each 700 pounds added to them. So some need about 5" to accommodate the 3,500 pound loads! Dually trucks have stiffer springs, so they squat about 1" per 1,200 pounds of weight.
