Man Pathwacker, you must gotten a real lemon. My TB will handle my 25-foot Hybrid just fine.

MargaretB....I'm afraid the tone of this conversation may be upsetting you and I hope that you understand that folks are just trying to keep you from making a mistake. I also think that perhaps a few posters are missing the point that your Sequioa has the tow package. If you believe it does, just double check to see if that is correct...stop at a Toyota dealership and have them take a look.

Now, if your Sequioa has the tow package and is rated to tow 9K, keep in mind that you have to deduct passengers and other gear in the truck. Secondly, the payload capacity of the truck may not allow you to tow anywhere near the 9k it may be rated to handle.

Since I have a 5.7 Tundra, I can tell you that based upon my trailers (one that I traded in and the Winnie), there is no way in ==== that I would tow much more than 7k with the Toyota. My goal when we bought the new trailer was to get our towing weight down to around 6K. So, I started with the Winnie that has a DRY weight of only 4,820 lbs. After options (awning, propane tanks, battery, etc.), I was figuring that the weight would be closer to 5,200 lbs. or so. After getting the trailer, we transferred our gear, and were getting ready to leave on a trip. Before packing food, I went to CAT scales and weighed the trailer and the weight came in at 6,200 lbs. So, anytime I'm towing, I'm towing somewhere between 6,200 and 6,300 lbs. In the back of the truck, I keep a blue tote, two folding bikes, tool kit, Weber Baby Q grill and 5 lb. propane tank and possibly some firewood.

With my Equalizer hitch with good weight distribution and sway control, the set up has my trailer just down a bit slightly. And for now, I only have P rated tires on the truck, so I inflate them to the max pressure. When they have to be replaced, I'll put on LT tires. Bottom line, I can tow my trailer very safely BUT, I really wouldn't want to tow much more weight irregardless of what the towing capacity states.

IMHO, if your truck is rated for 9000 lbs., you need to start out with a trailer that is only 4,000 lbs. or so dry weight. Insist that the dealer get the trailer you would like weighed at nearby CAT scales. By starting out at only 4K, you will end up towing around 5.5 K and I think that should be alright (IF YOU HAVE 9,000 lb. capacity).

But before you purchase, know not only your tow capacity, but the truck's payload capacity and how to figure it out. It has been discussed so many times on this forum the number of folks that buy too heavy of a rig and discover they need a new TV. That is why you are getting the responses here. So, just proceed with caution and do your homework.

The Nash and Arctic Fox look beautiful but are too heavy for us. Also, we can't get the floor-plans we like in the most affordable Nash - they are available in the Arctic Fox but at way too great a dry weight.

I'd wait until I could see the Nash. I'm definitely in the east and was so impressed I bought a 6 month old Nash instead of what was available new to me. It is my 5th TT and the quality and workmanship blew me away. I've owned Sunline x2, Jayco, Fleetwood x2 and Nash has better quality than any of my previous units. Mine was driven to Florida from Oregon and the traded for a class C. I've had to do nothing but routine maintainance stuff, nothing has broken or failed in the past 2 years. My experience may not be typical, but from a lot of other comments I've seen, Nash or the other Northwood products seem to be worth a good look before your decision. Btw, I would get any dealer to weigh or let you weigh anything you are considering before the deal is closed. Mine took the trailer to a truck stop with cat scales and gave me the weight slips--still have them.

Half ton passenger SUV with p rated tires and 1280 payload is not considered a great tow vehicle and you need to understand label weights not the manual nor inter webs.

My soccer mom 5.3 V8 trailblazer has 300hp and published tow rating of 6100lbs. Payload constraints, passengers, and tongue wt, had me at the gross combined weight rating with a 3500lb 12 foot popup! I can use the trailblazer as an emergency backup tow vehicle ie camper moves, to dealer, or tire/auto shops. Load it like weekend camper and we would wreck in the first five miles!

In looking at posts by the OP, I don't believe she has posted details about the Sequioa they own. I would suggest that she post more info about the vehicle, especially which engine and whether it has a tow package. I also suggest that the OP heed warnings about the actual weight of a travel trailer.

IF their Sequioa has the 5.7 engine and and it shares the same platform as the Tundra, it may be able to handle up to 7k as long as the TV isn't overloaded with passengers or gear. But I'm just speculating.

Again, the OP has to realize how much heavier a trailer can be when options are added, plus personal gear and water in the tanks.

Those that post concerns about TV capacity are just trying to keep the OP from purchasing a TT that will not tow very well with the Sequioa, and then the OP ends up with the problem of either getting a different tow vehicle or trading in the trailer which can be very costly.

Electric tounge jack a must, makes things sooooo much easier. You can never have to much storage.

We have a Whitehawk and if I were to say there was something I didn't like about it, it would be the space around the bed, barely enough to stand in. Now I know most of these set ups are the same and there isn't much to be done about it but, it is something to look at. How much room around the bed and how easy is to make the bed.

On a positive note we do like the divider with the swivel TV between the bedroom and the rest of the trailer, makes for a great movie night.

I am on my 2nd funfinder, went from a 16 foot to a 23 foot. We love them. Is it top of the line, nope but it's a well built unit. Ours is a 2008 and we have had it for 3 years. No problems with a thing and we use it a lot in the summer. The floor did Crack one winter from the cold, but from reading that happens a lot. We replaced it with a wood floor and love it. Nothing else has broke in it

Nevertheless if the additional info keeps her from buying a trailer that exceeds her vehicle ratings and she cannot comfortably tow she will benefit from the advice.
Too many time I have read of those who realize that they have a poorly matched combo after the sale has been completed.
It can be an expensive lesson to swap a new trailer or TV.
You can shoot the messenger if you like but the message remains unchanged.
To the OP be sure you understand hitch rating,payload rating,and tongue weight. If you understand the terms and how they effect your TV you'll be fine. If you avoid these terms or don't have a true understanding you could be making an expensive mistake
