The retirement tow vehicle planning...

My better half and I have decided to sock it away for our retirement setup. She wants a nice 5er. Something like a Montana or a Forrest river rig.

80-120K range...

I am more concerned with truck. I can't write off any of that interest.. So I gotta do this right.. Lol.

I'm not partial to dodge, even though the cummins is a great motor... I am lookin hard at the Ford Super Duty. I'd really like to stay in SRW , if a dually is a must ... Then maybe even consider a freightliner m2?

Any advice or suggestions would be great. I'm currently finishing a 10 day trip a Pismo coast village... I'm seeing a ton of freightliners... Lol nice rigs.

  • Look around and find the best 5er+truck you can afford the key work here is AFFORD.
we did the same when we started , got an used F-250 7.3LT and a 27' 5er with one slide ,later when we were more comfortable we traded for a newer signature rig.
It is difficult to give you an advice as there are to many details missing.
  • With SRW you are limited to under 15k lb FW's due to the pin weight. If you are fine with these smaller rigs for full-timing, it will be enough. If you want anything close or larger to this weight, get the DRW so you have reserve capacity and additional stability.
