The salesman told me...

Greetings RV.NET!

I am a newbie looking to purchase my first travel trailer. I've been doing my reading here and watching youtube to educate myself as much as possible. However, I'm stumped on something a salesman told me at a dealership yesterday.

The salesman told me to avoid aluminum framed travel trailers, and was pushing me to buy a wood framed. He said that metal conducts heat/cold, which I already knew. He then informed me that if I have a aluminum framed RV it will cause condensation inside the metal stud. He explained the condensation builds, drips down inside the stud to the wood floor below. He advised the wood floor will then rot overtime. Is this true?

This leads me to my second question... What are your thoughts on a Keystone Hideout by Hornet. The salesman was really pushing me towards this particular RV.

Anyways... Thank you in advance and I'm sure I'll have more questions in time!

I bet the salesman does not have any aluminium framed trailers on his lot! By saying that he was instilling confidence in you with his "knowledge" and ensuring you do not go elsewhere to buy.

Airstream has only produced aluminium framed trailers and about 65% of all the Airstreams ever manufactured since the 1930's are still on the road today. What does that tell you?
