The tank sensors are always incorrect, just the way they are. There are replacement ones if you get ambitious but you'll have to ask around to see if they work better or not.
Yup, it was one of the reasons we chose it over the Roo 17 (36 gallons). We also looked at at few Sprees but their 10 or 20 gallon tanks were ridiculous. I'm actually shocked that even much larger TTs don't have the water capacity of the 174es. Interestingly the Coleman CTE171 clone of the Aerolite 174 has a 60 gallon fresh tank, 28 gallon black, and 67 gallon gray. The issue with the Coleman is that these HTTs have a max payload of 3850lbs...with 60 pounds of water you only have about 150 pounds left for gear in the Coleman.
The 264 lbs hitch weight was an added benefit...with two GC-2 batteries on there and gear storage in the front we are able to get our tongue weight to 15% easily.
