That diamond plate is similar to what I am thinking about to replace the EPDM on my roof. I may go with slightly thicker gauge. I'll know once I visit my local supplier a quick feel of the various thicknesses will tell me which one I need (plus needs to be thick enough for me to TIG weld without blowing holes in it).

I was told by my local metal supplier that it only comes in 16ga and 8ga, at least thats all they can get. The 16ga sheet was really light and easy to handle. My roof is 1 sheet of aluminum, I would say 20-24 gauge, and will be coming off next year to do any repairs that are needed along with some upgrades of skylights.
