I noticed that the jack brackets were pulling a bit at the bottom, probably due to the the dually swing brackets putting ALOT of torque on the bottom of the bracket. The S&S is 3400 pounds after all, and it was not designed to be used off the truck as per S&S. We seem to find the the most un-level spots to park in to camp. So I like to pop the tie-downs and level it in the bed of the truck, and that sometimes means picking the nose up....ALOT. Add the jumping around and normal movement while camping, and that puts alot of stress on the front jack brackets.
So today I bought some 1/2 inch steel strap and made "stress distributors" for each side. I will add another brace from the bottom mounting screw so that the stress is split between 2 points. Then I think I will add a north/south brace also, down the side. I havent painted them yet, I will have to wait till the weather is better for that.
