Absolutely!
GM would gain little from a "merger". FCA needs someone to pay the development costs, because they are running out of money.
WRT quality, Same JD Power initial Quality report, Ford SuperDuty earned voice of the customer award for it's outstanding quality. In the same JDP survey, one of Ford's biggest complaints is that @##%^&* sync system, and I agree with that assessment. It's a #$%^%^&#$ POS, and glad they are replacing it in 2016.
