Hopefully it won't morph into gas vs. diesel...but I wouldn't bet money against that happening.

I recommended the diesel mainly since my interpretation of his post (yours may vary) was that he truly wants the diesel but has some lingering fears. Me personally, I wouldn't buy a diesel that wasn't under warranty but under warranty, oh yeah, hand me those keys.
